Temirlan’s Story:

Temirlan lives in a single-parent family with his mother. His father, a former Afghan war veteran, suffered from a long and serious illness and passed away a year ago. This loss deeply affected Temirlan, and he is still coping with the emotional impact of losing his father.

His mother works as an event organizer at the House of Culture and does her best to provide everything the family needs. They live in a private four-room house with full utilities, including running water, an indoor toilet, and hot water. Temirlan has his own room, which gives him a sense of comfort and stability. The family also maintains a small garden where they grow vegetables and fruit for their own use.

Temirlan has been diagnosed with a moderate intellectual disability. His mother regularly takes him to medical and rehabilitation centers to support his development and help him adapt to life in society. Despite his age, he has not yet acquired basic academic skills; he does not recognize letters and has difficulty with speech.

Nevertheless, Temirlan is a kind, open-hearted, and cheerful boy. He enjoys engaging with others by pointing to objects or sharing things that capture his interest. In his free time, he loves playing outdoors, especially games involving a ball.

Support from the boarding school and the sponsorship program provides Temirlan with essential care, educational assistance, and developmental opportunities in a safe and nurturing environment. With continued support, he can make progress, build skills, and experience a more confident and supported childhood.
