Asema`s Story:

Asema lives in a complete family of six: her parents, older brother and sister, younger brother, and herself. They also live with her grandfather, who is seriously ill and requires constant care. Asema has a mild intellectual disability. Her father works as a general laborer in a rural landscaping organization, while her mother stays at home to care for the younger child and the grandfather. Her older siblings attend the same boarding school, and her younger brother stays at home with their mother. The family’s income is low, and they face financial difficulties.

The family lives in a small two-room house. Asema does not have her own room and shares space with family members. Water and a toilet are available outside, and the family uses a neighbor’s bathhouse. Despite these challenges, Asema is a kind and active girl. She enjoys social interaction, participates in school life, and likes drawing. Attending the boarding school helps her develop her skills and receive necessary support, while participation in the sponsorship program significantly improves her learning conditions and quality of life.
