Nurselya’s Story:

Nurselya lives in a full family with four children, three of whom attend a boarding school. Her father works as a laborer in a rural landscaping organization, while her mother stays at home to care for the youngest child and manage the household. The family also lives with their grandfather, who is seriously ill and requires constant care. Because the family cannot afford kindergarten, the youngest brother remains at home under his mother’s supervision. Rising living costs place significant financial strain on the household.

Nurselya has a mild intellectual disability. She is kind-hearted and makes an effort to complete her school tasks, even though learning can be challenging for her. In large groups, she often feels insecure, becomes withdrawn, and may appear shy. She usually shares her thoughts and answers questions only with people she trusts.

The family lives in a two-room house where water and the toilet are located outside, and bathing is done in a neighbor’s bathhouse. Nurselya does not have her own room and shares living space with other family members. Attending the boarding school gives her a more supportive and structured environment, helps her develop important skills, and gradually builds her confidence. With care and support, Nurselya has the opportunity to grow stronger, feel more secure, and move toward a brighter and more stable future.
