ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Located in the village of Kemin (population 9,000) , our Kemin Boarding School was started in 2001. This boarding school is for children with physical and mental disabilities. It also hosts children from families whose parents were alcoholics or drug addicts. In addition to the required studies, students also learn basic living and vocational skills. Girls learn to sew and make handicrafts, and boys learn to do carpentry and other skills that will help them to make a living in the future.

SPIRITUAL IMPACT

From Monday through Friday, the coordinator holds a prayer meeting for all staff and students. We use these 30 minutes to praise the Lord and read God's Word. The children joyfully sing songs of praise and it has a healing effect on children's wounded souls, bodies and emotions as well. In each class, the lessons start with prayer of the teacher and students learn how to pray too. Every Friday, the coordinator holds a home group with the staff members. Three of them were believers before they joined the boarding school, and three more teachers had been baptized while they were at the boarding school. Each class has a moral lesson once a week. In the evenings, night shift staff also read the Bible with the children.  With God's help, there is a spiritual influence on the staff and children and a visible change in their spiritual growth. Their hearts are being healed and they are learning to build a relationship with God. Out of 25 employees, 20 are currently attending church.
