Jesus paid me a lot of attention

The following is a testimony of a student Liza from Kemin Boarding School.

Testimony | March 2025|Kemin Boarding School.

Liza currently lives in a full family. She and her younger sister were adopted at the age of 13. Her biological younger sister is 5 years old. They previously lived in Talas, where they had a four-room house, a bathhouse, and necessary facilities. The family now resides in Bishkek and rents an apartment. The father works as a furniture assembler, while the mother is currently unemployed due to illness. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor and has already undergone surgery, treatment, and recovery.

Liza joined the Kemin boarding school in November 2024 as an 8th-grade student. Initially, she was reserved, non-communicative, and often tearful, frequently complaining of headaches and toothaches. At first, everyone thought these were genuine health issues, but later it became clear that she needed more attention and care. She sought attention through these complaints. The family that adopted her is religious, but it was here at the project that God truly touched her heart, showing her that only He could be her true friend and help her overcome any fear or hardship.

Each morning, during prayer sessions with staff and students, songs of praise are sung, and teachings from the Bible are discussed. This is an important and needed time for both adults and children. Liza enjoys singing and praising God. Additionally, before starting lessons, students pray for their personal needs and their parents. Liza asked for prayers for her mother, who was about to undergo a second brain surgery. She sincerely believes that God will help her mother recover. Over time, Liza became accustomed to the school and her classmates. Today, she is a different person—open, joyful, smiling, and has made friends.

The Bishkek Bible League Theater frequently visits our school and involves students in their performances. This has helped children overcome their stage fright. Liza enjoys participating and takes her small roles seriously. Her progress has been noticeable to her parents, who have seen a transformation in their daughter—she has become happy and open.

We thank God for changing this child's heart, removing barriers of rejection, and shaping her into a new person. Earlier this month, Liza's parents traveled to Russia for her mother's planned surgery. We all eagerly await her return, fully healed, and for their family to be restored.
